MYOPIA CONTROL CLINIC AT SUN VALLEY EYE CARE

We are excited to offer your child a spot in our Myopia Control Clinic. We are certified to prescribe Paragon Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT) and other orthokeratology retainer contact lenses.

What is Myopia Control?

Myopia control lenses or Ortho-k lenses are customized contact lenses that gently reshape the cornea, the front part of the eye, overnight, allowing children to enjoy clear vision the following day—without needing to wear glasses or contact lenses. They’re ideal for people with myopia (nearsightedness).Type your paragraph here.

Other names for our Myopia Control Clinic:Orthokeratology, Ortho-k, Accelerated Ortho-K (AOK), Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT), Dream Lenses, Global Orthokeratology Vision (GOV), Gentle Vision Shaping System (GVSS), Molding Lenses, Natural Vision Improvement, Night Lenses, Overnight Lenses, Overnight Corneal Reshaping (OCR), Vision Shaping Treatment (VST)

What Are the Benefits?

  • Slows the progression of myopia – Having moderate to high myopia is a risk factor for developing serious eye conditions in adulthood.
  • Correct refractive errors – The lenses can correct myopia.
  • Clear vision all day long – The gentle corneal reshaping that corrects vision overnight lasts all day and at times even two days.
  • They’re comfortable – Created with precise mapping technology, ortho-k lenses are custom-fit to the eyes, thus ensuring optimal comfort.
  • Have an excellent safety record – Orthokeratology lenses provide safe vision correction when used properly and according to hygiene protocols. CRT by Paragon is also FDA-approved for how effective it is!
  • Reshape the cornea temporarily – The changes to the corneal shape aren’t permanent, so if patients eventually opt for laser refractive surgery, they can stop using the lenses and the cornea will naturally revert to its original shape.

Like all refractive surgery candidates, you may qualify, but may not be the best candidate due to dry eyes, large pupils, irregular sleep patterns, etc.  We will encourage you to ask lots of questions.  We will try to discuss your goals and our goals to see if you or your child may be a good candidate for this program.

Testimonial

"I started wearing glasses at age 5. By the time I was 13, my vision was at -5.25 in one eye and -3.75 in the other. At first, I didn't want to join this program because I was nervous about having anything going near my eye to the point I couldn't even use eyedrops. However, after I met with Dr. Pham and listened to his instructions, I was able to overcome my fear and continue with the program."

-Savanna (Patient since 2011)

We are happy to say this case had great results, though results may vary. At the start Savanna’s vision was approximately 20/400. After a month, it was 20/20.
